Forgotten Roads (La Nave Del Olvido)

Claudina is an older woman from the countryside. After her husband passes away, she is somewhat lost and falls into a lonely existence of routine. Due to economic difficulties, Claudina has to move in with her daughter Alejandra and her dearest grandson Cristóbal. Mother and daughter have a strained, distanced relationship that is intensified by their being under the same roof. To find some outlet outside of the house, Claudina meets the neighbor Elsa, a married, yet very independent woman who might best be labeled as a free-spirit. Eventually Claudina and Elsa begin a clandestine relationship that slowly evolves to love, setting off in Claudina a journey of self-knowledge… to be free from the judgment of her daughter and friends. Not easy to do in a religious and conservative little town, but the town might be too preoccupied with the recent UFO sightings to notice the ladies’ relationship. Forgotten Roads is a film about life, love, and being who you are in the different stages of life…and yes, often feeling like an alien in your own life.
