EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
We seek a confident leader who is passionate about our mission and can focus on fundraising and long-term sustainability as they build upon the organization’s reputation and success.

The Executive Director is a full-time, exempt position. The position reports to the Board of Directors, and has overall strategic, financial, management, fundraising and operational responsibility for OUTshine’s consistent impact in the South Florida community and beyond.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Vision – Develop and implement a clear, long-term strategic plan that furthers OUTshine’s mission, builds on current programs and forges a clear direction for the future.

Programming - Oversee and ensure the quality development and execution of year-round programming, to deliver on OUTshine’s mission and ensure content and events that are relevant, compelling, and deliver impact to the community. Commit to developing and growing audiences and membership to be increasingly diverse and reflective of the entire LGBTQ+ community, especially within South Florida.

Fiscal Management – Work with Finance Director and Treasurer to deliver financial oversight to achieve/ exceed annual budgetary needs, develop appropriate reserves, and provide for long-term going-concern of festival operations and stewardship of festival assets.

Revenue Growth – Oversee strategy and planning in all aspects of fundraising. Coordinate with the Director of Sponsorship and Fundraising, staff, and Board members to set and meet targets. Create fundraising initiatives designed to meet and exceed organizational financial requirements.

Membership Engagement – ability to connect with, maintain and grow membership base whose dues comprise a third of OUTshine’s budget. Build and execute clear plans to maintain and grow members of the festival.

Board interaction and governance - With the Board Chair, Executive Committee, and full Board, shape and enable the Board to fulfill its governance, oversight, and fundraising functions. Support Board operations and administration. Maintain a communicative, supportive relationship between Board and staff. Work with the Board Chair to build and diversify the Board to make it a key component of fundraising and organizational growth.

Strategic Partnerships - Leverage current and build new strategic partnerships with corporate, non-profit, individual, educational, and community-based groups. Ensure successful execution of partnership agreements by both parties. Actively approach and cultivate new partnerships to strengthen OUTshine’s profile in the South Florida community and elevate its prominence nationally.

QUALIFICATIONS
5-7+ years’ work with non-profit organizations with experience in leadership, director level or above.
Experience being part of a film festival team is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to fundraise from multiple sources (e.g., sponsorship, donations, memberships and grants) for a non-profit organization with a budget greater than $.5M. Help grow the budget to $1M+.
Experience with high level donor engagement.
Experience effectively building a board to support the long-term vision of organization.
Experience coordinating and producing large scale programs, festivals, and/or events.
Experience managing staff and consultants.
Excellent public speaking, writing, and general communication skills.
Working knowledge and experience with media arts, particularly film.
Experience securing $10K-$50K+ gifts, including but not limited to individual giving, corporate sponsorship, special events, and private and government grants.
Strong organizational leadership and strategic planning skills.
Experience with organizations that serve LGBTQ+ communities.
Experience developing strategic plans to operate large initiatives or programs against a limited budget.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience. OUTshine offers paid vacation and sick time.
